Facebook Works To End Sex Trafficking

Social media and mobile devices have become such an everyday facet of our lives that it is easy to forget the potential of the technology constantly (and literally) at our fingertips. Luckily, Facebook has not forgotten that their software can do more than facilitate long distance friendships.

 

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has announced that Facebook has offered its engineers’ help to combat online child sex trafficking. They will use technology similar to Facebook’s facial recognition and other algorithms software to look for patterns in content on websites where sex is sold.
