Pornography is causing “catastrophic outcomes,” experts say

The National Center on Sexual Exploitation is calling on Congress to enforce pornography laws and set appropriate limits on pornographic content.

 

Research shows that viewing pornography damages the human psyche, inhibits pair-bonding, and leads to the abuse and exploitation of women.

 

Eight experts spoke at a two hour event in the U.S. Capitol Visitor’s Center last month.

 

“[Pornography] is telling them this:” Mary Anne Layden, Ph.D. and one of the experts said. “There is no such thing as too much sex, and there is no sexual behavior that is harmful, toxic, or traumatising, and that sex is not about intimacy, caring, love, or respect.”
