Use Policy
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the CleanRouter products, software, and services (“Services”) provided by CleanTechnology, Inc., doing business as CleanRouter (“CT,” “we,” or “our”). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of the CleanRouter Terms of Service.
By using the Services, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your access to the Services.
2. General Standards Of Conduct
You agree to use the Services responsibly and in compliance with all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations. You are responsible for the actions of all users on your network who access the internet through a CleanRouter Product.
3. Prohibited Uses
You may NOT use the Services to:
3.1 Illegal Activity
- Engage in or facilitate any activity that violates any applicable law, statute, regulation, or ordinance
- Distribute, store, or transmit illegal content, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Engage in unauthorized access to computer systems or networks
3.2 Harmful Or Abusive Conduct
- Harass, threaten, stalk, abuse, defame, or intimidate any person
- Distribute malware, viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or other malicious code
- Engage in phishing, social engineering, or fraudulent schemes
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
3.3 Network Abuse
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to CT’s servers, networks, or infrastructure
- Overload, burden, or impair the proper functioning of the Services
- Launch denial-of-service attacks or other attacks from or through the Services
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of CT’s systems without authorization
3.4 Circumvention
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent the content filtering, security, or access control features of the Product or Service
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices or security features
- Use VPNs, proxies, or other tools to evade CleanRouter filtering in a manner inconsistent with the account holder’s configured settings (this restriction applies to managed users, not the account holder configuring their own settings)
3.5 Intellectual Property Violation
- Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of CT or any third party
- Use the Services to facilitate copyright piracy or unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material
3.6 Unauthorized Commercial Use
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Services without CT’s prior written consent
- Use the Services to provide internet filtering or security services to third parties not covered under your Subscription
- Use the personal/family product tier for business purposes (the Small Business model is available for commercial use)
4. Account Holder Responsibilities
As the account holder, you are responsible for:
- Informing Users. Notifying all persons who use devices on your CleanRouter-filtered network that internet activity may be monitored, filtered, and reported.
- Consent. Obtaining any required consent from network users, including compliance with applicable employment, privacy, and monitoring laws if you are using CleanRouter in a workplace environment.
- Appropriate Configuration. Configuring filtering levels, device profiles, and access controls appropriate to the users on your network.
- Minor Supervision. Maintaining appropriate supervision of minors. CleanRouter is a tool to assist with internet safety, not a substitute for parental supervision.
5. Monitoring And Enforcement
5.1 No Obligation to Monitor. CT has no obligation to monitor your use of the Services for compliance with this AUP, but reserves the right to do so.
5.2 Enforcement Actions. If CT determines, in its sole discretion, that you have violated this AUP, CT may take any of the following actions:
- Issue a warning
- Temporarily suspend your access to the Services
- Permanently terminate your account
- Report the violation to appropriate law enforcement authorities
- Take any other action CT deems appropriate to address the violation
5.3 Cooperation with Law Enforcement. CT will cooperate with law enforcement agencies and comply with lawful legal process (including court orders and subpoenas) in investigating and addressing violations of this AUP and applicable law.

7. Changes To This Policy
CT may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via our website or email. Your continued use of the Services after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
