For kids: “What should I do when I see pornography?”

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released a video to help parents and children talk about pornography.

With statistics indicating that almost all children will be exposed to pornography eventually, the video, titled “What Should I Do When I See Pornography?” teaches children what to do when they see pornography– label it, turn off and/or put away the device, and tell a parent or trusted adult.

The Church’s video is unique to other resources in that it explains to children that avoiding pornography is part of taking care of one’s body. The video illustrates in a kid-friendly way how pornography affects your brain and your future relationships. Best of all, there is no guilt or shaming– the video lets kids know that curiosity is normal and their reactions can be handled appropriately with trusted adults.

The video, while presented from a religious perspective, contains information helpful to both religious and nonreligious families.
